What is going on here???

At the Dewan Rakyat yesterday (14 Nov 06), Ismail Noh (Pasir Mas) said that pretty women will get husbands who will provide for them, so companies should consider employing less beautiful women to alleviate poverty. This is a sexist remark by someone who represents the people. How do you know she is going to get married to someone who will provide for them since most of the Kelantanese men who are living in Kelantan are hanging around the house while the wife goes out to work?

The prove is that the number of the women working at Pasar Siti Khadijah… So where is the sense of responsibility of these men? Aren’t they ashamed to be eating out of a women’s hard earned money? For a state that claims to uphold the Quran and Sunnah, ; that situation is against the teaching of Islam as the husband should be the provider for the wife and not the other way round.

On the other hand, Penang island Municipal Council (MPPP) president, Datuk Abu Bakar Hassan blamed New Straits Times reporter Melissa Darlyne Chow, 23 and others for the way she dressed. Hello? Why is that CCTV aimed at her thighs in the first place? That technician is no better than a sick peeping tom who derives pleasure from the unethical behaviour.

Why can’t these people who are in power think about other things for the betterment of the people instead of thinking only about women and sex? For example, how to decrease the crime rate, how to approach Mat Rempits / Minah Rempits so that they change their way (rebellion is often a cry for help or attention), something construction for a change and not petty issues. Do these men in power have nothing else on their mind but women and sex??? If these are what is going on in their minds, it might be better to put the women in power instead.

My opinion: Show the peoples power, ...don't elect them in the next election...we can jump and shout but once they are elected many forgets the people.
