Car park shelter to curb loitering By PAUL CHOO PETALING JAYA: The Immigration Department has decided to house foreign workers not picked up by their agents in a shelter at the KL International Airport car park to prevent them from loitering in the airport. Department director-general Datuk Wahid Don said having them everywhere at the airport would create an “unpleasant” situation for other users. “We can’t have them running around the airport and congesting the premises of KLIA,” he said. “This is the main reason they are being placed in the airport’s car park, which has been converted into a temporary shelter,” he said. Wahid was referring to reports of thousands of foreign workers, mainly Bangladeshis, who have had to literally live in the car park on level three of Block A after arriving in the country while waiting to be picked up by their agents in Malaysia. I saw this poster some time back and published my comments at entry : http://selians.blogspot.com/2006/12/pengguna-bijak.html Again today I saw another such poster (I will publish it soon) that said compare prices before you buy, buy only what you need and so on .... and the billboard was placed by the government. To my surprise, it was not the people that need to be reminded about "get the best lowest price", "spend wisely", compare vendors for best price ...and all was to control inflation..as they said. But the government itself..... look at the news below. It's a international laughing stock ...joke of the month. I can't say "joke of the year" because there has been many such joke s and I expect more. So who is buying a Rm160.00 item for RM1,146.56? And making reasons and blame the contractors. I would suggest sack the procurement officers and the one who sign the contract. Even a SRP failed person can figure out pen like that will not cost RM1...

Bad Experience with Smart Tag RM50 Posted by: mhui80 Post(s) by this blogger I read an announcement in the newspaper about a month ago that Smart Tags would be sold from August onwards at all Plus Toll Plazas. Today, I stopped at the Sungai Besi Touch N Go centre to get myself a promotional Smart Tag. The staff greated me in a very unpolite way and told me that the Smart Tags were all sold out. I started to question them when the Smart Tag started selling and they said just today. And, all the promotional items sold out in just a few hours. They said if I wanted to buy now I could get one at RM130 for the non-promotional package. I felt cheated because I think all the Smart Tags should be on promotion like it was annouced in the newspaper. The sessions court also jailed him another three months for misleading the Legal Profession Qualifying Board in approving the results. Judge Harmindar Singh Dhaliwal ordered both sentences to run concurrently from today, but later granted a stay of execution pending an appeal in the High Court. Khalid was on bail of RM20,000. "I should make it clear that if not for the stirring mitigating circumstances, a substantive term of imprisonment would have been imposed," said Harmindar. The moment I see the price, I was not hungry anymore .... Nasi Lemak that cost about RM3.00 (since it is said SPECIAL) was sold at RM8.00 and the mineral water that I can get at about RM1.50 was being sold at RM3.90.
