Teenager Gives Birth in Clinic Toilet

KUALA TERENGGANU, 5 MAY, 2010: Patients and other people present at the Jerangau Health Centre in Felda Jerangau, Dungun, were left in shock when a Form Four student gave birth in the clinic's toilet today.

Earlier, in the 11am incident, the student was said to have gone to the clinic with her neighbour after she complained of stomach pains.

Upon arriving at the clinic the teenager entered the toilet and was discovered by passers-by who saw blood and water trickling out.

When they opened the door they found the student and her baby covered in blood.

The student, who is from a secondary school in Dungun, has been sent with her baby for treatment at the Hulu Terenagganu Hospital.

Dungun acting police chief ASP Alias Abu Bakar confirmed the incident and said investigations were underway including finding out if the girl had been raped.
