Signboards Under Jurisdiction Of State Government
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- Languages used on signboards is under the jurisdiction of the state government and not the unity, culture, arts and heritage ministry, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.
Deputy Minister Teng Boon Soon said the ministry was not responsible for enforcing any language used at local authority or state government levels.
He was replying to Datuk Mohamad Aziz (BN-Sri Gading) on talk that the Penang Government planned to use several languages on signboards in the state.

seals: I heard the minister of unity, culture, arts and heritage warned the Penang CM not to go against the agreed practice (I think he also said "by the Rulers") that Malay is the language that unites Malaysian.
But I have seen usage of JAWI in Selangor and Johor and many other places.
I am not questioning the usage of JAWI here but highlighting his contradicting statement. I am glad Jawi is used, but when someone else takes a step further to do more .... then they should keep quiet.
It is not only BN is allowed to do thing for people any good leader and party can do better for the people. When that happens the other should keep quiet.
