Rebuild Umno image first, says Ali

MALACCA: Stop the politicking on the nomination quota and get on with the job of rebuilding Umno’s image, vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said yesterday.
“Focus shouldn’t be on the party elections at the moment. Our main agenda should be on rebuilding the party’s image following the general election,” he said.
“We must go to the ground and meet people and listen to their grouses.
“It is only proper that we put aside any personal interest and strive for the good of the party as how it was in Umno before,” he added.
Umno information chief Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib supported Mohd Ali, saying Umno leaders should focus on work to restore the confidence and spirit of party members.
“People are still surprised with the results of the general election. They did not expect Barisan Nasional to lose several states.
“There is plenty of work to do. We should go back to our respective areas and do our work.”

seals: I thought you said you don't need anyone and even GOD can't shake UMNO, pls clarify. Or you are one of the contributor to the fall?
