‘Blatant corruption’ in Permatang Pauh?

Women, family and development minister Ng Yen Yen distributed RM200 to about 200 senior citizens above the age of 60 in Seberang Jaya today.

She did it at the Persatuan Bomba Sukarela Permatang Pauh from 2-4pm. It may look like it was kind of charity aid for senior citizens especially women, but people questioned the timing.

The receivers had too register their names with the welfare department with their identity cards.

And if one could justify the timing, then why did Yen Yen tell the participations in Hokkien: “ow jit, ay hiao cho” (direct translation=you know what to do on the day after tomorrow”).

How come? That’s like buying votes, isn’t it? Can Yen Yen justify that it is not? I am willing to listen.

By the way, I think she was quite ‘embarassed’ when she asked the crowd at the beginning of her talk “lu but wah woh?” (Do you know me?).

I heard no one responded.
